Carbon
monoxide is a colorless, odorless, tasteless and toxic
gas produced as a by-product of combustion. Any fuel
burning appliance, vehicle, tool or other device has
the potential to produce dangerous levels of carbon
monoxide gas. Examples of carbon monoxide producing
devices commonly in use around the home include:
Fuel
fired furnaces (non-electric)
Gas water heaters
Fireplaces and woodstoves
Gas stoves
Gas dryers
Charcoal grills
Lawnmowers, snowblowers and other yard equipment
Automobiles
The Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) reports
that approximately 200 people per year are killed by
accidental CO poisoning with an additional 5000 people
injured. These deaths and injuries are typically caused
by improperly used or malfunctioning equipment aggravated
by improvements in building construction which limit
the amount of fresh air flowing in to homes and other
structures.
While
regular maintenance and inspection of gas burning equipment
in the home can minimize the potential for exposure
to CO gas, the possibility for some type of sudden failure
resulting in a potentially life threatening build up
of gas always exists.

Measure
carbon monoxide concentration levels in room air
between 0-1,999 ppm. Weighing just 8 ounces, the
Snifit is light as a feather and can fit in your
shirt pocket! Simple and straight forward...one
touch button control shows a digital CO reading
on the 3-1/2" backlit display. For the utmost
precision, CO zero adjustment allows you to zero
the instrument in fresh air.

This
innovative product has both a digital display
and a tri-colored LED, indicating concentrations
of CO at three levels. This carbon monoxide detector
provides accurate ppm readings, as well as displays
instantaneous CO gas concentration levels in compliance
with residential (ASHRAE) and workplace standards
(OSHA).

Bacharach’s
Monoxor II CO Analyzer is a hand-held instrument
designed to locate CO in ambient air as well as
stack gases. The continuous sampling instrument
quickly and accurately measures levels of CO between
0 and 2,000 ppm. The Monoxor II has a stainless
steel probe with four feet of tubing to sample
CO found in flue gases of residential furnaces,
combustion appliances, commercial and industrial
boilers. With the addition of the Breath Analysis
Module (BAM) to the Monoxor II, it becomes a powerful
tool in determining the presence and level of
CO in the bloodstream. The Monoxor II is also
available in a high range version (0-85,000 ppm)
for vehicle emissions testing and forklift tuning.

Designed
to fit into overall pockets, the Spygas has also
been developed to provide easy access in difficult
to reach areas. The automatically activated backlight
allows for easy viewing of the digital display,
whilst the crescendo alarm increases in pitch,
with both indicators warning when CO safety levels
are exceeded. The built-in timer allows for ambient
room CO monitoring applications, with the maximum
value recorded for the test period.

T40
Rattler™ is compact and lightweight and
can easily be clipped to a belt, shirt pocket
or hard hat. Gas concentrations are clearly read
on a large four-digit, seven segment liquid crystal
display (LCD). Alerts the user with audible, visual
or vibrating alarms when a preset low or high
alarm value is exceeded. The peak-hold feature
captures the highest reading.
